Remittances increased by Tk 602 crore in January

The amount of remittances increased in January compared to December last year. The increase in remittances in January is more than Tk 602 crore.

According to Bangladesh Bank sources, remittances sent by expatriate Bangladeshis to the country in January amounted to 1.70 billion dollars. The amount in Bangladeshi currency is 14 thousand 620 crore Tk.

It is learned that last December, the expatriates sent 163 crore dollars to the country, which is 14 thousand 18 crore taka in the local currency.

It is to be mentioned that since the first day of the new year, the government has increased the cash incentive in remittance flow from 2% to 2.5%. This has had a positive effect on the index. In addition, the value of the dollar has risen. That means more money is now available against the dollar.
