He is the second most powerful person of Awami League, the General Secretary of Awami League as well as bridges minister. He made an explosive comment Thursday. There is a commotion in Awami League over this comment. Awami League leaders were shocked by the statement of the general secretary of the party. An emergency meeting was held with the affiliated organizations at the Awami League party office on Bangabandhu Avenue. Party general secretary Obaidul Quader led the meeting. A statement made by Obaidul Quader in the opening speech has now started stir within the party leaders and activists. In response to the statement of BNP leaders that Awami League will not find a way to escape, General Secretary of Awami League, Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader said ‘you say every day that the government will run away. Where to escape? Awami League has no escape history. If necessary, I will go to prison on the soil of the country, I will not escape.’ There is now a multi-faceted analysis within the Awami League regarding this matter. Party leaders say that when the general secretary of the party makes such comments, it should be understood that the party is in crisis, the government is in crisis.

Is the government actually in crisis? A grass-root level leader of Awami League asked this question. He said the party leaders and workers need to be more energized, they need to be encouraged at this time. But by talking about going to jail, he has spread fear in Awami League. Another leader of Awami League says that if the general secretary of the party talks about such fear-spreading despair now, then the morale of the workers will be broken. Now the opposition has started a movement. At this time the workers should be more energized. Awami League's achievements should be highlighted. The real situation of the economic crisis should be highlighted. But why is he talking about going to jail instead of doing that? Is the situation so bad that the Awami League will have to go to jail in the coming days? Awami League should be ousted from power? None of the senior leaders of Awami League liked this statement. One such presidium member who was present at the meeting said on condition of anonymity that I was shocked after his statement. I tried to understand what he was saying, whether he was saying this knowingly or not. Such talk is suicidal. Not only suicidal, but also harmful to the party, such words will create confusion in the public mind. Through a statement, the common people will think that the condition of Awami League is not good. The country is probably going to be like Sri Lanka. But the actual situation is far from that.

Awami League's second term general secretary Obaidul Quader. Awami League council is going to be held in December. He is one of the contenders for the general secretary of that council for the third time in a row. But when he talks about going to jail and not escaping, the question of what message is sent to the leaders and workers of Awami League is being discussed all over the world. In recent times, the government has been under various pressures. The increase in the price of diesel has created a kind of unrest in the public mind. The prices of goods are increasing by leaps and bounds in the market. The dollar market has become volatile. Anarchy is going on in public transport. The level of load shedding is increasing. Teams need to be integrated in such situations. The party leaders and workers need to be made aware of the situation and messages need to be given to the leaders and workers about what to do to deal with this situation. But if the second most powerful person in the party talks about going to jail without doing that, then the morale of the whole party is broken. Many people think that Obaidul Quader did this work. However, those close to Obaidul Quader say that he made a political statement. He made this comment as an example of Awami League's bravery in response to the opposition party repeatedly saying that they will not find an escape route. However, Awami League leaders are saying that when BNP says it will not find a way to escape, if Awami League says that Awami League will win the next election as well, the people are with Awami League, it would be logical why Awami League should run away. Instead of doing that, he gave a message to oust the Awami League, why is the question now in the house of the Awami League.
